The Art and Science of Food Decay

Normal vision combines the strategic scanning of our environment with a corresponding cognitive response that allows us to navigate and form an understanding of the world we live in. Beyond our normal visual field, existing alongside that which can be easily seen, lies a parallel universe which can only be accessed through the modern day scientific and technological advances of the electron scanning microscope.

This work, made in collaboration with the Institute of Food Research, explores the potential benefits of exploiting the processes that occur during food decay to combat the issue of food waste on the environment.
