Knowledge, Beauty, Life
'Knowledge, Beauty, Life' addresses our perceptions of the 'imperfect other' through thoeries of gestalt psychology and the ideas of 19th century educator and philosopher Friedrich Froebel, to create a quasi-scientific environment.
Stacks of partially filled petri dishes, test tubes and bottles glowing with vivid colour are juxtaposed with tactile transparent cylinders, cubes and spheres containing strange mutated forms and slides of delicately prepared specimens. The viewer is invited into a process of revelation, as the true nature of these objects comes to light, concealing a disquieting message beneath a veil of aesthetic beauty.
